The Premise

Skill First. Score Follows.

Too many IELTS preparation courses focus on templates, tricks, and score-chasing. The result: students who can follow a formula but struggle to communicate with real competence. This MasterClass takes a different approach.

Three sessions. Four skills. One framework built on genuine student growth.

Outcomes

What Teachers Leave With

Teach IELTS writing as a skill-building process, not a template exercise

Develop speaking activities that build fluency, coherence, and confidence

Design listening practice that strengthens comprehension strategies

Approach reading instruction through genuine skill development

Build a cohesive IELTS teaching framework centred on student growth

Receive all session materials and slides for continued professional use

Programme

3 Evenings. 6 Hours. 4 Skills.

Each session builds on the last — from writing and speaking, through listening and reading, to full integration.

1

Writing & Speaking

This session focuses on teaching IELTS writing as a skill-development process, not a template exercise. Participants will explore how to build genuine writing competence and then shift to speaking — developing activities that build fluency, coherence, and confidence through structured practice.

Key Focus Areas

  • Teaching IELTS writing as skill-building, not formulaic templates
  • Building speaking fluency, coherence, and confidence
  • Structured practice activities for both skills

Outcome: Participants will leave with practical writing and speaking activities they can use in their next IELTS class.

2

Listening & Reading

This session examines how to develop genuine listening comprehension strategies — moving beyond answer-hunting towards real skill. Participants will then explore reading instruction through skill-building rather than test-taking techniques.

Key Focus Areas

  • Developing genuine listening comprehension strategies
  • Moving beyond answer-hunting to real understanding
  • Reading instruction through skill-building, not test tricks

Outcome: Participants will leave with listening and reading lesson frameworks that develop real student competence.

3

Integration & Application

The final session brings the four skills together into a cohesive IELTS teaching framework. Participants will work through practical planning and classroom implementation — building a skill-centred approach they can apply immediately.

Key Focus Areas

  • Integrating all four IELTS skills into one teaching framework
  • Practical planning and classroom implementation
  • Building a skill-centred IELTS teaching approach

Outcome: Participants will leave with a complete IELTS teaching framework centred on genuine student growth.
